Rewind about 12 ½ years; I am brand new to America, and I turn on what I think is Public Radio:

Husband: “What on earth are you listening to?”

Me: “I think it’s stand-up. This guy is doing a really over-the-top impression of some right wing asshole. He’s pretty good.”

Husband: “No, sweetheart, that’s Rush Limbaugh”.

Me: “Who is Rush Limbaugh?”

Who is Rush Limbaugh, indeed. Oh, how I wish I could return to my pre-Rush, naively happy days when I had never heard he existed. When the pill popping came out, I sighed with relief; surely now he would lose his job, crawl back into his hole and die bitter and alone. But no, for some strange reason this man is still on the radio, spouting nonsense, and dangerous nonsense at that. What’s worse, he actually acts like his opinion matters. Shutting him up is like trying to kill a cockroach with a ballet slipper. Maybe, when Obama wins in November, he will have a heart attack; dare to hope.

Meantime, sorting through the FLDS family tree is harder than trying to make sense of Anne Rice’s Mayfair connections, and considerably less fun. Meantime, www.2wives.com continues to thrive. It’s a useful site for those people that watch all this unfold, and think, well, I’m not that religious, but polygamy is something that sounds attractive… But watch out: they don’t want to help you if you don’t plan on telling your wife she’s not the only one. They also don’t service women that want more than one husband. Bastards.

The bad news just keeps flying around the FLDS folks; it’s like Christmas and Easter rolled into one, except that this is the Tim Burton version. Wait; do those crack-heads even celebrate Christmas? Oh, I forgot; I don’t care.

The latest news reports claim some of the boys who showed up with fractures are “very young”. What, exactly, does that mean? Are they toddlers? Infants? How did they get these fractures? Was there sexual abuse? Former FLDS member Carolyn Jessop has said that she’s witnessed children hit so hard they flew across the room. Seems to me that they should do some digging at the compound; who knows whether all the kids survived that kind of treatment. Of course, accusations are denied vehemently; getting these people to admit to any wrongdoing is about as easy as herding cats.

That fence that people want so bad at the Southern border should be built around the ranch instead. Make it nice and high, close the door, lock it up, and throw away the key.  If that’s not an option, I want to see some damn arrest warrants.

This gets prettier all the time. We were probably all wondering, after hearing about the FLDS compound, how many more of these idiots live amongst us. Here’s another one: Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, paid a visit to the aptly named Lord of Our Righteousness Church, whose leader claims to be the Messiah. Three underage children were taken into custody; leader Wayne Bent a.k.a. Michael Travesser says God anointed him as the Messiah in 2000.

“He acknowledged having sex with three women - the wives of two of his followers and his daughter in law. He said it was at the direction of God and the instigation of the women. In a lengthy discussion dated Sept. 11, 2007, Bent said his work is finished and he does not expect to be “in the earthly sphere” much longer”. (Source: AP)

Ah, it was because God wanted it. Funny. That last part sounds like a goodbye note to me; somebody better put this man on suicide watch.

Meantime, 41 of the 464 FLDS children (all boys) that remain in custody show signs of multiple fractures. That answers the question of what they do to the kids they can’t marry off to middle aged guys. But, of course, nothing is going on; the FLDS members “just love their children and want them back”.

And people think we Jews are weird because we don’t eat pork.

The total number of FLDS children in custody now stands at 462, because an additional 25 women who claimed to be over 18 turned out to be a little younger. Thirty of them are allegedly pregnant.

It is obvious we haven’t heard the end of this, but what I’d like to know is, what’s going to happen to the men? Is anybody going to be arrested one of these days? Is the compound going to be shut down? Don’t talk to me about freedom of religion; these men are disgusting predators and must be held accountable.

Meantime, foster families that have agreed to take some of the children in are give pointers on how to make things go more smoothly. No Television, radio, or movies are allowed, and neither is the color red.

That’s right; FLDS members believe that red is reserved for Jesus, and should not be used for clothing, or interior decorating.

Funny, how people can justify rape on a grand scale, but if you wear a red shirt, you’re going to hell. I guess you have to have your priorities. I hope the little kids rebel and sneak in some TV time. I wonder, is PBS still showing the Big Red Dog?

In truly weird news today, 73-year old Josef F. from Vienna, Austria, was taken into custody after police found out he had held his daughter Elizabeth captive in his basement for 24 years. He also allegedly fathered six children with her. How anyone can get away with something like that, and for so long, is an utter mystery to me. But hen, maybe there are some things I’d rather not know.

Larry King tonight is interviewing a bunch of liars; these women are as trustworthy as Cheney during a hunting trip. They sound like robots and look away every time they answer a question. They show all the telltale psychological signs of deceit, and they sound like robots.  “Our children need us”, they claim. Do they think the rest of America is stupid? Don’t they realize we can see right through their rehearsed stories and make-believe tales of being the victims? These women are victims of do-it-yourself brainwashing only. And why aren’t we hearing from the men? Another question I have is: why is there a picture of Warren Jeffs in every room?

The Television keeps showing the tanks and agents in body armor; are we supposed to think there was an excessive use of force? Does anybody remember Waco? I’m sure the state of Texas did.

Funny how Winston Blackmore suddenly portrays himself as the “Good” Polygamist, in spite of the fact that he has at one point married a 15 year old. I think the one thing that we have failed to hear about so far is how incredibly young that is.
