Hi…Thanks for visiting. My name is Annette van de Kamp-Wright; I am a Dutch immigrant, 36, married to a therapist, mother of Isabella and Mendel, and a free-lance writer and columnist.
Just to clarify on the “Fun with Pregnancy” section: I’m not pregnant, but I took lots of notes when I was. I’ve finally gotten around to writing some of this down.
The section “Fun with Parenting” consists of short entries about my children. Some are funny, others are more serious. Under the heading “Fun with Politics” you’ll find my two-cents worth regarding the day’s political bloodbath, as well as some news thrown in for good measure; don’t take it too seriously.

Hi Annette. Did you bring your husband with you from Holland? In this country we prefer that individuals from a European extraction have a dual-parent household. I hope I am not being too forward.

Peepers, the answer is no, I did not bring a husband. Nobody in Holland wanted me because my IQ is only 135, so I found an American exchange student, got him drunk until he passed out, then pretended the next morning we slept together and told him a few months later I was pregnant. Then I made him marry me and get me a green card. Then I made him convert to Judaism.
I found out later that this is not how Americans like Europeans to act, but what are you gonna do?

Indonesia!!! I grew up in Holland so I’m addicted to Indonesian food. I would kill for some really good Nasi Goreng right now, but I live in Nebraska, so forget it.
