I think the biggest problem with the Democratic Party at the moment is that the news is so unbelievably boring. No matter how many fun graphics the good people at CNN use (boxing gloves, anyone?) to highlight this supposed fight between Hillary and Obama, the sad truth is, nothing much is happening. Hillary isn’t quitting, and why would she; Obama doesn’t have much to worry about and occupies himself with bowling and vacationing in lieu of large rallies. All that’s left for the media to do is talk about what could happen, what should happen, and what might happen. Add to that the fact that media predictions so far have, well, sucked, and the end result is yawn-worthy television.

Luckily, for those of us who are bored to tears, there’s always other news.  My favorite this week is the story about the New Zealand man who claimed he was raped by a wombat.  I wonder, did he just get up one day and decide he needed attention? Was it a dream, alcohol, some homegrown grass? And if for some odd reason he really believed a wombat sexually assaulted him, why would he want it advertised? And what was the wombat thinking? I wish, since current politics make for such uninspiring television, for somebody to go to New Zealand and do a follow up story on ‘Wombat-Man’.
