I heard a journalist repeat one voter’s comment about a potential McCain/Rice ticket representing a “dream team” for the next four years.

Sounds more like a nightmare.

Luckily, Condi answered by saying running for office “was just not in her genes” and she would never run for office in the United States.

What? She’ll run somewhere else? Where? Is the United States not good enough?

Yes, I’m purposely misinterpreting her words, and no, that’s not nice.

However, it seems to be okay for certain others to twist and misquote, as evident by McCain’s response to Obama’s comments regarding U.S. relations with Cuba.

Although it’s difficult to follow McCain’s speeches (is there a more boring speaker? No wonder the Republicans aren’t too happy with him either; he talks for five minutes and you’re asleep) I managed to listen to his attack on Obama on post-debate day.  It was a little sad, to be honest; but then, he was probably distracted because of Renzi’s troubles.

Oh no, wait, he said he “didn’t have any details about that.”

It’s going to be a great general election.

My thoughts after last night:

I don’t ever want to hear the word “momentum” again.

I’m excited about Hillary, I’m excited about Barack, but it can’t hold a candle to the excitement I would feel if they would band together. I can see it now: both of them on stage in front of a cheering audience, balloons and confetti everywhere, not to mention the cemented smile on Cindy McCain’s face as hubby gives his concession speech. Will her face finally crack?

It will go something like this:

“My Friends, we fought a hard race. Blah blah blah, my friends. Integrity and honesty, blah blah blah. More Republican lies and empty promises, my friends. The terrorists will win, and it will all be the Democrats’ fault, my friends.”

Then he will announce his candidacy for 2012, and even his most ardent supporters will want to kick his ass.

Who will they send into the ring next, I wonder? Both Reagan and Arnold successfully transitioned from Hollywood to Washingwood. It took the extremely dour and depressing demeanor of Fred Thompson to end that winning streak, but this may only be temporary. There are other actors and actresses to be harvested for obscure political purposes, I’m sure.

Just promise me one thing: let it not be Chuck Norris.
